Portland 2016
What can I say?
Portland was awesome. I met some very interesting people and saw some very interesting things. The food was amazing, the scenery both in and out of the city was beautiful, and I feel so refreshed after this mini-vacation. It was the perfect blend of relaxing and exploring.
Some highlights of the trip:
- I took a bike tour through the Columbia Gorge and it has probably the prettiest forestry I've ever seen. For me to not be upset that it was raining during this tour really speaks towards just how beautiful everything was. The tour guide also gave an overview of Oregon from its origin to its current day issues and struggles. I think Colorado has given me a greater appreciation for nature, and for that I'm thankful.
- There was lots of good food, but I think what will stick with me is the fries that I had at Little Big Burger. The burger itself was just alright, but man the fries were so good. It could've also been due to the fact that this was my meal right after biking all morning/afternoon.
- The AirBnb I stayed at was a hostel-style living. I ran into people from all around the country/world, and I even got the opportunity to hang out with a couple of them. I think the organic relationships was the cherry on top.
Beyond that, I'll let the pictures to the rest of the talking. Enjoy!

What's a Texas?
I just want to say: my trip to Texas was a lot of fun. This is one of a couple of times that I traveled somewhere else by myself, and the more that I do it, I think the better I'm getting at it in terms of planning the logistics and finding a rhythm of things to do.

It was great seeing my friend out there too, but there are a few regrets from the trip. I wish I spent more time in Austin and had some In-n-Out while I was there. I wish I visited San Antonio and stuff like the river walk while I was out there. And here's the worst part: I actually lost one of my SD cards while I was out there!! D: It was a bunch of videos that I took while I was out there, and I think I left it in the rental when I was in a hurry to return the car and make it on time for the flight. Maybe good practice in the future is to have my contact info on or in the card should some straight up good Samaritan want to return it. I was excited to make a pretty neat video, but now you'll have to see like the latter 2ish days worth of footage when I got lazier and filmed less.
BUT all in all, it was an awesome trip!!!!

Announcement(s)!
Hey everyone, guess what?!
I will be going to Texas in a couple weeks!
I'm not gonna lie, I am pretty excited to go. What part of Texas, you ask? Answer: yes. It's going to be a pretty high caliber trip! Over the course of 3.5 days, I'm looking to hit Houston > Dallas > Austin > ?San Antonio? (still deciding) > Houston. I have a buddy who lives out there right now, and although he only has time to hang out on the weekend, it does give me the opportunity to do some of my own roaming before we meet up!!
And guess what else?
I got a new camera lens!
It's a Sigma 17-50mm 2.8f. In English, it's a lens that has the range of taking anything from relatively wide landscape shots to portrait shots. In simpler English, it's a lens that suits basically 99% of all my needs, and I'm loving it so far!! Here's some stuff I shot with the new glass, which will hopefully be joining me on my Texas trip too!

Goodbye 2015
Can I just be honest?
2015 was not my favorite year.
I'm not being dramatic; it wasn't ALL bad, but I think 2015 was a year of staleness for me. The growth that I wanted to see in a lot of things just wasn't at a place I can even remotely be satisfied with. Whether that's my relationship with God, friends, career, family, it just really felt like I shut my eyes Jan 1, 2015, and when I opened them again, I found myself in 2016.
I think I came to this realization during my 2-week vacation in NorCal (seriously, that was so nice!!). Reflecting was a lot easier with less noise around me to be distracted by. Seriously, the irony that I went to an overpopulated state to find quiet is pretty funny!! But back to my point: even after almost 2 and a half years in Colorado, I still find myself just floating in and out of church services. I definitely don't keep in touch with family and friends back at home with the care that they deserve, and that's when I realized everything in 2015 just seemed... stale in my life.
Now that I've written it out, it may not seem like much, but my heart just has this sense of anxiousness, and I have no other reason for this other than my heart has forgotten who its leader is. It's hard to remain neutral spiritually. You're either heading towards the direction of cold or the direction of hot. And quite like the weather out here, it's been pretty icy roads in my heart as of late too. It's not jadedness or resentment, just... staleness.
But here's the beauty of this: I'm really believing 2016 will be a better year. No matter what that looks like on the outside, the important part is my resolution to take better care of my "inside." They say the first step in fixing a problem is admitting you have one, right?!
And on the flip side of the coin, to say the nothing happened in 2015 would also be a lie. I finally started recording more music. I have a more stable living situation. I've explored many parts of Colorado, and even took a trip to New Mexico and Hawaii. I watched my brother become a husband. I've made a whole bunch of new friends this year.
So 2015, thank you for everything that's happened, thanks for the way it ended, and here's to a fruitful 2016!!
