This was my first comic con, and it was planned extremely last minute as well. I didn't find out about it until the Sunday before the weekend that it was going to happen. At that point, all Saturday tickets (which, if any day, is the day that you want to be there on) was sold out! So there was the whole craigslist adventure of trying to find tickets. Long story short it all worked out, but needless to say it was pretty stressful!
But boy was it worth it!! I was simply blown away by all the cosplayers and everyone's enthusiasm to be in their element. I realized that this community was one of less judgement, that being called a "nerd" was innately a good thing, and that everyone was there simply to have a fun time in whatever way that they planned to do so. Some may have gone to listen to the panels that were held, others scrounged for signatures from their idols, some came there for the merchandise, and some went there to flaunt their costumes.
All in all, it was a time like no other for me also! I bought lots of stuff, saw some original Power Rangers, and took pictures of and with many cosplayers.
So here's to a good summer yet to come, let it be full of awesome times, new experiences, and new perspectives on life!
